What is Emotional Intelligence?
Emotional intelligence (also known as EQ) is “a set of emotional and social skills that influence the way we perceive and express ourselves, develop and maintain social relationships, cope with challenges, and use emotional information in an effective and meaningful way.”
Unlike IQ or personality assessments, EQ is not a static factor. EQ can change over time and key areas can be developed. EQ-i 2.0 identifies potential and pitfalls, recommending strategies needed to make improvements. It can be useful for companies in the recruitment and retention of successful, emotionally healthy employees.
Do you find:
- Navigating microaggressions and bias taking a toll on your emotional well-being and job performance?
- Your strength and directness causing you to be labeled as harsh or aggressive?
- Isolation and underrepresentation at your leadership level makes it difficult to build and maintain social capital in your organization?
Why the EQ-i 2.0 Assessment?
The EQ-i 2.0 assessment is a tool to help you address these challenges by offering a structured way to measure and understand your emotional intelligence. Through personalized feedback and actionable strategies provided in your EQ-i 2.0 assessment results, you will:
- Deepen self-awareness: Gain new insights into how you perceive and express yourself, including your reactions to and the impact of bias and microaggressions.
- Improve Social Skills: Learn to develop and maintain professional relationships that support your leadership and personal growth, helping you to build a stronger network.
- Manage Stress: Identify tools to cope with challenges and use emotional information in ways that enhance your decision-making and daily interactions, ensuring you remain effective and resilient.
Ultimately, by addressing specific emotional and social skills gaps you will bolster your leadership capabilities and enhance your overall workplace performance, without sacrificing who you are.
About the EQ-i 2.0
The EQ-i 2.0 measures emotional intelligence (EI), through a self-assessment.
Results are available in a Workplace Report focusing on workplace performance, or a Leadership Report focusing on effectiveness and approach. If the test is administered to a team, the Leadership Report will also include a benchmark comparing leaders to help your company gain a competitive advantage.
The assessment includes a one-hour or ninety-minute debrief coaching session and a comprehensive report.
About the EQ 360
The EQ 360 2.0 is a multi-rater version of the EQ-i 2.0. It assesses the same emotional and social skills as the self-assessment but from an observer’s perspective. First, participants nominate who they want to get feedback from when they complete their self-report. Then, raters complete the EQ 360 2.0 online, and the results are simultaneously tabulated into one comprehensive report for the participant.
The assessment includes three one-hour debrief sessions (objectives & feedback, client insights & curiosities, goal setting & action planning) and a comprehensive report.
