The last few weeks have been a whirlwind of meetings, emails and late night convos about our transition plan. This weekend we put our talk into action. We started packing. Yesterday we hosted a ‘Sip & Shop’ little open house (aka indoor yard sale). Folks came and bought all sorts of goodies and we generated a profit.
Today I actually packed my first box!! Man…when I tell you this day has been a beast. I started on the second floor and made my way down. Right now the 1st floor is a mess of piles and boxes.
I will be up all night because the cleaning people come at 12noon. This means that everything downstairs must be off the floor.
I think my issue is that I’m doing two things at once. When my husband cleared upstairs for me his goal was to get everything off the floor so the carpet people can do a through job. My goal is to get everything off the floor AND pack it. In my mind to do one and not the other will mean double work for me later.
Yes, this means I won’t wiz through BUT it will also mean that when it’s time for the movers to come I will be done. Plus I work. I don’t want to miss any (more) work for this move. So I will take a short nap in what used to be my home office and get started around 3pm.
The light is at the end of the tunnel. We just have to focus and trod ahead.
